Rockview University is Currently looking for a creative and self-motivated candidate to fill the position of FARM SUPERVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 Certificate with five credits or better, including English, Mathematics and Science
- Diploma or certificate in general agriculture
- 2 years working experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solver
- Good decision making skills
- Strong ethical standards
- Willing to work in a rural setting
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organizing and managing farm activities
- Supervising farm workers
- Implementing farm plans
- making policy decisions
- Budgeting and maintaining accurate financial records
- Organising sales and purchases of livestock, farm equipment, crops and agricultural products
- Keeping farm records
- Ensuring compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards
- Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases
- Ensuring that the farm is profitable and meets projected financial targets
- Organising maintenance/repair of farm property, equipment and machinery
- Managing sales
