Job Description
KSM MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, the largest HR firm in Zambia recently acquired GOZAMBIAJOBS.CO.ZM, becoming the largest recruitment platform in the country is now actively looking to recruit for a ACCOUNTANT on behalf of our client in the Health sector.
Job Purpose
The accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for the hospital, ensuring proper billing, cost control, and compliance with financial and healthcare regulations. He/she will support efficient financial operations, revenue collection, and reporting to enhance the hospital’s financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- PAYE: Staff Doctors, nurses, locum, casuals 2025/26 tax band.
- Withholding Tax: On rent, consultancy fees, locum doctors, suppliers where applicable.
- Prepare Annual returns: Income tax, NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers’ compensation.
- Handle ZRA smart invoice/e-invoice
- Able to prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow, budgets.
- Payroll management for shift workers overtime, and call allowances.
- Handle all HPCZ registration fees, PACRA annual returns, Council levies’
- Fixed asset registers for equipment and other valuables.
- Bank reconciliation, petty cash, debtors/creditors.
- Oversee patient billing processes (inpatient and outpatient)
- Manage accounts receivable, including follow-ups on outstanding payments.
- Handle insurance claims and reimbursements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ZICA, CIMA – part qualified acceptable).
- Minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in experience in a clinic/hospital, pharmacy, or NGO health project.
- A ZICA Technician with 2+ years in healthcare experience + strong tax knowledge would be preferred.
