JOB OPPORTUNITY: CLAIMS MANAGER
KSM MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, the largest HR firm in Zambia recently acquired GOZAMBIAJOBS.CO.ZM, becoming the largest recruitment platform in the country is now actively looking to recruit on behalf of our Client, an Insurance Broking Firm, indigenously owned by Zambians looking for a qualified individual to be engaged as a CLAIMS MANAGER.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The CLAIMS MANAGER will be responsible for handling the process of the claim from notification to the settlement of the same. The personnel should be one who will study the validity of the contract signed between the Insurer and Insured in full so that the loss is paid off accordingly. The desired personnel should be able to understand insurance in full and be able to handle other insurance products aside claims.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Claims Management
- Maintaining the claims register in place.
- Claim notification to insurance companies and processing of documents in accordance to company guidelines.
- Making follow ups on outstanding documents from clients and ensuring that clients are regularly and promptly updated on statuses of their claims.
- Advising clients on the necessary documents for the claim to be processed and ensures that all claims are handled in a proactive manner.
- Doing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations to ensure all reports are accurate.
- Assist in ensuring that the company is compliant with existing regulatory requirements and ensure that it adapts to newly introduced regulatory requirements.
- Liaison with Pensions & Insurance Authority (PIA) regulations.
- Thorough investigation of claims in case of fraud.
- Attending to inquiries from clients and insurers and ensuring that clients are regularly and promptly updated on statuses of their claims.
- Underwriting Process
- Processing and preparation of cover notes, debit notes and placing slips.
- Placement of cover with insurance companies for all instructions concluded as new or renewal business.
- Maintaining any premium and policy registers in place.
- Negotiating, designing, processing, checking for errors on quotations, policy documents and endorsements.
- Inspection of premises or vehicles presented to the company for insurance or endorsement issuance.
- Advising clients on the relevant documents required for quotations, policy and endorsements.
- Preparing of periodical reports on underwriting activities as management may require from time to time.
- Preparing of monthly basis renewal schedules and renewal notices and sending to clients.
- Maintaining a good workable relationship with all clients and insurers.
- Marketing
- Sourcing or soliciting for new business.
- Developing cultivation and marinating key networks for new business and existing business.
- Preserving and promoting a good name for the company.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Insurance studies.
- Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in insurance.
- Proven knowledge of insurance standards and procedures.
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Must possess high levels of integrity.
- Is not declared bankrupt.
- Has not been convicted of an offence involving fraud, dishonesty or other financial crimes under the PIA’s Act or any other written law; and
- Has no record of misconduct with previous licenses or in the financial sector.
