Job Description
Duties:
- Safely operate heavy-duty vehicles across different countries.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of cargo or passengers.
- Follow scheduled routes and delivery timelines.
- Complete and present accurate customs documentation.
- Comply with immigration, border control, and international transport regulations.
- Coordinate with customs officials for inspections and clearance.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Ensure the vehicle is in good working condition before and during the trip.
- Report any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Secure loads properly to prevent damage or shifting.
- Monitor cargo condition during transit, especially if transporting perishables or hazardous materials.
- Handle loading and unloading when required.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel usage, mileage, and delivery records.
- Track expenses, tolls, and receipts.
- Submit reports to the company as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with dispatchers and logistics personnel.
- Report delays, emergencies, or route changes.
- Coordinate with international partners or clients when necessary.
- Obey international and local traffic laws.
- Follow road safety rules and company policies.
- Take necessary breaks and rest according to driving hour regulations.
- Represent the company professionally at delivery points.
- Handle documentation handover and signatures.
- Address any client concerns courteously and promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 certificate
Over 5 years work experience in a similar role
Valid passport
Driver’s License class CE
