Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for establishment of preventative and responsive electrical maintenance and development at the MLL plant site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Plant lighting system installation, fault finding and troubleshooting
• High voltage motors inspection, maintenance and lubrication
• Low voltage motors inspection and maintenance and lubrication
• Industrial Motor control circuit wiring and installation
• Low voltage domestic wiring installation
• Electric fence inspection repair and installation
• Cable trays installation and maintenance
• Substation inspection and cleaning
• Transformer inspection and maintenance
• Maintenance of MMC cabinets
• Maintenance and installation of VFD and VSD
• Maintenance of liquid stators
• Maintenance of stacker machines, reclaim machine’s fault finding and troubleshooting
• Bag filter maintenance and fault finding
• Connecting of electrical equipment such 3phase wedding machines, external electrical adaptors water pump motors and other equipment’s that requires electrician attentions.
• Maintenance parking plant equipment’s such as cement parkers, cement loading machines and control cabinet’s fault troubleshooting and calibration.
• Belt emergence system installation and speed monitoring sensors
• Cable laying and joining
• Voltage, current and power factor monitoring of high voltage and low voltage equipment of every substation and record keeping
• Inspection of low and high voltage motors
• Fault troubleshooting and installation of plant field instruments
• Maintenance of substation UPS
• Maintenance and installation of all plant electrical control cabinets
• Inspection of cable tranches and removing of water from cable tranches during rainy season
• Responsible for water source pumps motor power and control cabinets maintenance
• Solar lighting installation
• Installation of new plant electrical equipment’s and testing
• Testing of various electrical systems and plant process instruments
Skills and Competencies
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum of Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering
• Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
• Significant experience (3 years) in a similar role in the maintenance, construction or mining sector.
• Sound understanding and experience of the principles of electrical and national building standards.
• Good knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, equipment, material and safety procedures used in the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Good knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices; planning methods and tools, including planning and scheduling software.
• Good knowledge of applicable codes, standards, specifications and regulation within cement manufacturing industry.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, drawing, piping and instrumentation diagram.
