KSM MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, the largest HR firm in Zambia recently acquired GOZAMBIAJOBS.CO.ZM, becoming the largest recruitment platform in the country is now actively looking to recruit for Heavy Duty Mechanic on behalf of our Client in the FMCG industry.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic/Heavy-Duty Machine Mechanic to join our team. He/She will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to ensure safe, efficient operation. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge of automotive systems, Engine overhauls, gearboxes, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicle engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, suspension systems, and other components.
- Repair or replace defective vehicle parts and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance work completed, parts used, and labour hours.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma in Mechanics, Heavy-duty or equivalent qualification.
- Five years of experience in Tata Trucks, Mercedes-Benz, and FAW Engines will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults effectively.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
