MULTIPLE POSITIONS

- JUNIOR SITE MANAGER
Plant supervisor responsible for ensuring that blasting takes place on time and in line with the customer’s request, this includes all the pre-blasting activities and preparation of the Emulsion Charging Unit and Electronic blasts and planning of the blast.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Closely with mine staff on the site and, on an ongoing basis, manages the relationships with them so that needs can be assessed and sound service delivery can take place.
· With due regard to the customers’ requests, responsible for performing the necessary planning and organizing to ensure that all the resources are available on an ongoing basis to meet orders.
· Ensuring customer satisfaction on site. · Monthly report to BME management and mine including a blasting efficiencies report and cost analysis. |
- Responsible for ensuring the sound management of storage areas such as the silo and the magazines on site. Responsible for ensuring that the storage of accessories and products is in line with statutory prescriptions
· On an ongoing basis, required to ensure that stock levels of products are monitored, systematically recorded on Stock Lists.
· Required to replenish stock levels and placing orders with plants on a timely basis so that shortages and consequent delays in production are eliminated or at least minimized. · Responsible for administering the ordering of products by signing delivery notes and entering the stocks in the Magazine Register. · Responsible for arranging transportation and organizing permits such as CTP or TTP. · Responsible for ensuring the security of stocks in storage areas in order to eliminate damage, theft and pilferage.

- Required to analyze cost/benefit situations in order to balance costs incurred compared to bringing about customer service
- Responsible to ensure that all the requirements of the OSH Act, and statutory prescriptions (at a minimum) are met on the site.
- Responsible for ensuring that staff working on the site meet all the statutory, legal and company SHEQ requirements, standards, and prescriptions necessary for the performance of day-to-day activities on the site as well as preparing for and executing a detonation. This includes, among other things, the items on the Monthly Site Inspection Form as well as for underground blasting preparation and exec.
- Ensure mine performs timely maintenance.
- Calibration of charging units.
- Perform maintenance on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic system.
- Assist mine with maintenance and repairs.
- Weekly inspection.
- Train and create an environment of knowledge transfer/ sharing with mine personnel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Grade 12 (with Math’s) Blasting Ticket (mandatory) |
- 5 years’ demonstrated mini experience (including underground, blasting, blast auditing and reporting)
- Demonstrated knowledge in performing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical work
- 3 years’ demonstrated experience in supervising employees
- 3 years’ demonstrated experience in responsibility for managing costs
- Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- PLANT SUPERVISOR
The Plant Supervisor is directly accountable for total process management, including: time and attendance management; adherence to basis of safety and legal requirements; training; and provision of services like batch make-up, product & raw material quality, etc..
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing aspects and meeting target in the following areas of responsibility for the process and team under supervision:
- Safety
- Production productivity
- Time and attendance management
- Accurate recording of employee’s time sheets
- Correct recording of leave and overtime
- Material productivity
- Ensure raw material usage variance is within tolerable limits
- Ensure monthly stock counts are conducted accurately
- Timeous reporting of deviations in raw material usage
- People productivity including training and leave planning
- Ensuring overtime remains within legal limits
- Ensuring all employees are adequately trained as per training requirements
- Ensuring adherence to all company policies
- Ensuring corrective disciplinary actions are taken according to company policies
- Quality
- Ensuring minimum quality standards are maintained
- Ensuring that quality inspections are done on incoming raw material
- Ensuring packaged finished goods released according to applicable standards and specifications
- Ensuring proper recording and deviations in product quality
Adherence to sound SHERQ principles
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferably Chemistry, engineering or production)
- 3 years demonstrated experience to independently set and maintaining safety, quality, production, productivity and housekeeping
- 2 years demonstrated experience in people management
- 1 year demonstrated experience in explosives production preferred.
- Ability to ensure compliance to all safety, legal and operational requirements.
- Ability to identify and address process and equipment set-up and process and equipment upset conditions.
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Proficiency in MS office package
- Able to operate PLC systems
- FOREMAN
The FOREMAN will primarily be responsible for supervising mining operations and ensuring the safety of workers in the mine. The mining foreman must have a deep knowledge of mining operations and safety procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of miners in a shift
- Ensure compliance of safety regulations
- Develop and implement mining plans to optimize productivity and efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to plan and execute equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor production rates and ensure compliance with production targets
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
- Strong understanding of mining principles
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in demanding and physically challenging environments
OTHER QUALIFICATION
- Membership to the Zambia Institute of Engineering
- Blasting certificate.
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to work long hours during busy periods.
