Job Description

KSM MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, the largest HR firm in Zambia recently acquired GOZAMBIAJOBS.CO.ZM, becoming the largest recruitment platform in the country is now actively recruiting for Multiple Position on behalf of our client in the Manufacturing industry.

  1. TRUCK DRIVER

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations run smoothly at your duty station;
  • Checking all reports incidences/breakdowns/delays and liaison with Kitwe control room;
  • Compiling and sending of SITREP reports every day to the Security Manager;
  • Where available, do reconciliations of tracking units/devices every week and also to make sure that all units are recovered from the borders/offloading points.
  • Inspecting and monitoring of all company vehicles on daily basis and this also includes the preparing of fuel requests preferably twice per every month
  • Monitor all truck movements on WhatsApp groups and emails;
  • Follow up on ONSITE application for non- conformance by escort guards and ensure compliance;
  • Ensure that trucks are parked at designated areas at the appointed time;
  • Supervise all escort guards including static guards;
  • Deploy escort guards as and when required;
  • Must ensure that all escort requests are done promptly;
  • Ensure escort procedures are fully understood and adhered by all escort guards at all times;
  • keep Security Manager updated on all activities;
  • To immediately report all incidents and be involved in initial investigations;
  • Build a strong and healthy relationship with relevant authorities in area of operations;
  • Do regular road patrol and/or inspections/assessments;
  • Ensure good communication with the Control Room;
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by management.

 

  1. CONCRETE MIXER TRUCK DRIVER 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driving specialized truck to construction sites and pour concrete from the from the mixer
  • Load the truck with the proper materials (such as cement).
  • Mix concrete before a job.
  • Operate a concrete mixer truck to transport ready-mix concrete from the plant to the construction site, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Inspect the mixer truck before and after each trip, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition to maintain safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Clean the mixer drum and chutes after each delivery to prevent concrete from hardening and to maintain the equipment condition and efficiency.
  • Communicate with dispatch and construction site managers to confirm delivery details, adjust schedules as necessary, and resolve any on-site issues promptly.
  • Manoeuvre and position the mixer truck at the construction site to facilitate the direct pouring of concrete or to fill concrete pumps or buckets, ensuring minimal disruption to the site.
  • Adjust the speed of the drum rotation to mix the concrete en-route to the site or to prevent separation of ingredients, ensuring the delivery of quality product.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

 

  1. LOGISTICS/ DISPATCH OFFICER 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To supervise work schedules, monitor and appraise staff performance.
  • Enforce insurance compliance for goods in transit for all third-party logistics and transport providers.
  •  Records management, keep records electronically in the ERP (enterprise resource planner system) such as uplift report, attendance, service records, invoices and payment records for transporters and service providers.
  • Enforce health and safety standards and measure during and post covid 19relaxation of measures.
  • Manage leave application monthly and performance scorecard for bonuses.
  • Enforce disciplinary code and ethics among office staff and drivers.
  • Negotiating contracts and recruiting new third-party transporters.
  • Maintain and update diesel records for owner operated fleet
  • Monitor vehicles expenses such as repairs& maintenance costs and ensure they are minimized.
  • Resolving disputes regarding damage of cement, delay or late delivery of cement and other products.
  • Enforcing legal compliance and follow-up/pushing all court cases to the legal department for prosecution. Such as stolen cement, damaged cement and accidents.
  • Organize witnesses for legal proceedings and court cases.
  • Ensure that fleet of trucks is roadworthy and is compliant to all the legislation from RTSA (Road transport and safety agency) & (RDA). such as identity fitness and road tax.
  • Ensure fire safety inspecting and training the team about fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure customs compliance for all export trucks. Such as packing lists, road manifest, invoices and certificate of origin.
  • Requesting and collecting equipment for the office and trucks from the warehouse.
  • Negotiate and maintain moving average transportation rates renegotiate when fuel prices change.
  • Plan and collaborate staff team building and improvement meetings and activities.
  • Attending drivers and departmental accidents.
  • Being part of the recruitment process conducting interviews for drivers and officers.
  • Follow up on movement of vehicles using geo-tab, now I fleet, GPS system.
  • Ensure daily reports for all the officers that outline work done for the day and work plan for tomorrow to be sent at the end of every shift.
  • Forecast and plan for peak season and ensure efficient delivery during the peak season.

 

PERSONNEL

  • Transport MLL products in accordance with the distribution schedules provided by the Logistics / Dispatch Officer signed off by the Head Logistics
  • Ensure that vehicle (and drivers) log books are properly maintained for input into vehicle management system and/ or monthly payroll.
  • Review and have signed on periodic truck fuelling requests, in line with approved provisions.
  • Remind the Logistics / Dispatch Officer routine servicing and repair of the truck as required and maintain relevant documentations.
  • Check that vehicle licensing, renewals and other statutory registrations (e.g. Local Authorities’ permits) are in order before using the vehicle.
  • Maintain fuel records of vehicles in the plant to check and prevent fraud and ensure optimal usage
  • Maintain and track records of fuel usage costs for all movements.
  • Communicate and forward information regarding vehicle requirements to the Logistics / Dispatch Officer and Logistics Supervisor
  • Perform periodic vehicle inspection, report incidences and provide recommendations to Logistics / Dispatch Officer and Logistics Supervisor.

 

 

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Logistics, Transport or related & previous experience will be an added advantage
  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • An experience of at least two (2) years driving.
  • A valid document for driving in the sub-region, a PSV-CE driver’s license, a recent
  • Computer literate (Proficient in MS Office; Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Proven experience in planning and organizing daily activities.
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive, able to take initiative
  • Able to function calmly amid a crisis
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours and additional tasks and duties.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant supporting tools and technologies such as MS Excel, Project Management applications, etc.
