KSM MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, the largest HR firm in Zambia recently acquired GOZAMBIAJOBS.CO.ZM, becoming the largest recruitment platform in the country is now actively looking to recruit for Multiple Positions for our Client in the Medical Industry.
1. BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER (MEDICAL EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE).
Biomedical engineers specializing in medical equipment maintenance are vital in ensuring that healthcare facilities operate with functional and safe medical equipment, directly contributing to patient care and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and calibration on medical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with complex biomedical equipment, often in high-pressure situations.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to medical staff regarding the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Compliance and Standards Adherence: Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Equipment Installation: Oversee the installation of new biomedical equipment, ensuring proper setup and integration into medical facilities.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Collaboration with Vendors: Work closely with equipment manufacturers and vendors for parts procurement and to stay updated on equipment advancements and recalls.
- Innovation and Improvement: Suggest improvements to existing medical devices based on observations and feedback from medical staff.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in biomedical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Work Environment: Hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.
- May involve on-call hours to address urgent equipment malfunctions.
SALARY RANGE: K8,000 – K15,000 Net Pay
2. ANAESTHESIOLOGIST
This role demands a high level of precision, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to work in high-pressure situations. Anesthesiologists play a critical role in ensuring patient safety and comfort during medical procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preoperative Evaluation: Assess patients’ medical history and current health to plan appropriate anesthetic treatment.
- Anesthesia Administration: Administer various types of anesthesia (general, regional, local) before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitoring Patient Vital Signs: Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed during surgery.
- Postoperative Care: Provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia, managing pain relief and monitoring for potential side effects.
- Collaboration with Surgical Team: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and effective pain management.
- Emergency Response: Rapidly diagnose and treat any complications or emergencies related to anesthesia.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about anesthesia procedures and postoperative care.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in anesthesiology and participate in ongoing education and research.
Education & Experience
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Residency training in anesthesiology.
- Board certification in anesthesiology.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Work Environment: Hospitals, surgical centers, and other medical facilities.
- Long hours, including nights and weekends, with on-call responsibilities.
